Sneak Peek II : Herakut’s ‘After the Laughter’ (2.25)

In the midst of the preparation for Saturday’s ‘After the Laugher’ installation-centric show and book release @ LeBasse Projects Chinatown , Herakut had the opportunity to create a mural on the side of a historic building right at the edge of Chun King road on Thursday afternoon.  Shown here in progress, the new wall features a lovely female in the guise of a bird complete with flowing pink feathers.

On the inside of the gallery, things are moving along at a rapid pace.  The installation will feature several new paintings, a new series of cast stone sculptures based on Hera’s original paper maiche design, numerous curios, and surprises.  In addition, several of the larger installation pieces from Herakut’s recent extraordinary turn with the Lucent Dossier Experience theatre group will be featured in the gallery installation.   Speaking of Lucent, several of the performers will be on-hand at the opening in their Herakut-designed costumes.  In short, Saturday’s opening is not to be missed.
