This Saturday, pop surrealist painter Lola will open her solo show “Haro” at Corey Helford Gallery‘s new space, CHG Circa. Painted with a delicate hand, Lola’s compositions are filled with a strange cast of human and animal characters that seem somehow trapped or unsettled. Much like a conflicting dream, Lola’s paintings are full of disparate images; her characters wear worried or sullen facial expressions and masks, hinting at an underlying conflict that remains unclear. Take a look at some of Lola’s paintings from the show, and make sure to catch the opening on September 8.
