Taking inspiration from vernacular art forms like graffiti and product design, Greg Lamarche‘s latest hand-cut paper collages and assemblages remove meaning from letters, melting them into an abstract mix. Tomorrow night, October 4, Lamarche will present his new solo show, “Timeless,” at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York. Using found and vintage papers for the collages’ source material, Lamarche disregards our notion of time by giving these antiquated, throw-away objects new meaning. The letters somehow appear animated, bouncing off one another with cartoonish playfulness. Take a look at some of the new works, images courtesy of Joshua Liner Gallery.
