On Saturday, SF’s Guerrero Gallery will present two visions of society at the fringes with Cleon Peterson’sThe Brinksman’ and ‘When You Get Power’ by Bill McRight. Peterson’s stark imagery continues his exploration of society pared down to its violent, instinctual nature where survival by any means is central.  Many of these works were previously shown at Peterson’s 2011 NYC – this is a perfect opportunity for West Coast collectors to view the work in person.  In addition to his signature society in chaos paintings, the show will also continue  the artists’ recent explorations with abstraction in his preferred  start black and white palette.

Bill McRight considers the inventiveness and resourcefulness of fringe elements of society to defend itself  with everyday objects.  In the proper light, a wide array of objects become deadly weapons.  McRight’s installation showcases a practical installation ringing a shack bathed in an appropriate shade of crimson.
