Opening Night: Sarah Joncas and Chris Haas at Last Rites Gallery

New York City’s nexus for the dark arts, Last Rites Gallery, recently debuted two solo shows, Sarah Joncas‘ “Taking Over” and Chris Haas‘ “Waking the Dead.” Sarah Joncas paintings of solitary females tapped into vices and dark, self-destructive impulses while Haas’ sculptures presented the remains of otherworldly creatures constructed from found animal skulls. Last Rites Gallery just launched a YouTube channel where they will be releasing exclusive interviews with their exhibiting artists. In their first video, associate director Erica Berkowitz interviews Sarah Joncas about her work. Stay tuned for the upcoming release of a video interview with Chris Haas on the Last Rites YouTube channel.
