Amella Fais Harnas is currently reinventing the wine stain within the constructs of her paintings. Instead of these dreaded stains on cloth being their usual imposition, they are transformed by the artist into beautiful lasting portraits. The wine stains are set into cotton material using her special technique of working with heat, her method sets the stains into the material quickly allowing her to add multiple layers of wine to the cloth. The resulting monochromatic pink hues contrast beautifully with the cotton and the glowing golden halo like accents that surround some of her subjects. See more after the jump!
